Beware of water !

Beware of water is a tool for addressing issues related to access to drinking water and sanitation.

Pedagogical purposes

This tool purposes to highlight inequalities in access to drinking water and sanitation infrastructure. It also allows to promote understanding of the causes of these inequalities.

At the end of the activity, players will be able to :

• understand that water is a commun resource
• identify the role of public policy in the proper management of water and sanitation

Goal of the game

Inspired by the « Werewolf », Beware of the water ! is a hidden role-playing game. Each player will have to play a secret character during the game – either a disease or a villager – alternating night-time and daytime phases.

During the night-time phases, villagers may be affected by deseases linked to lack of access to water or sanitation infrastructures.

During the daytime phases, the players seek to flush out diseases and improve their infrastructures so as not to fall ill again.

The game continue until the diseases are eradicated or, on the contrary, infect the whole village.
